When commercial building managers faced the daunting prospect of rewiring entire facilities to upgrade to LED lighting, Leo saw an opportunity to solve a problem that had stymied the industry for years.
The LED Driver Breakthrough
In 2014, Leo led his engineering team at Greco Tech to develop a revolutionary LED driver circuit that would change the commercial lighting industry. The innovation was elegantly simple in concept but technically sophisticated in execution: a universal driver that could intelligently detect whether it was receiving high-frequency pulse current from a legacy fluorescent ballast or direct AC line voltage.
This meant facility managers could perform "drop-in" LED retrofits without the costly and time-consuming labor of bypassing ballasts or rewiring fixtures. The technology was published as USPTO Patent US 2016/0081147 A1 on March 17, 2016—a milestone that cemented Greco Tech's position as an innovator in energy-efficient infrastructure.
